Invitation Wording

Use these samples as a starting place for your invitation wording. Remember to include all of the important details. Proper spelling is a must, punctuation is not. The address line is only necessary if you are not including a direction card. In some situations you can include reception information at the bottom of your invitation if space allows and you want to avoid a separate reception card.

Below the invitation text you will see a few response card wording examples.

There are many pitfalls to avoid in wording your invitation. You may want to consult an etiquette book or offer a first draft to all parties involved before printing your wedding invitation order. We are happy to offer advice but our opinions are only guidelines, not set in stone rules. Avoid including quotes or passages on the invitation as a more appropriate place would be your wedding program. Keep it simple and clean.

Most of the wedding invitations shown on this site are the final version of past wedding invitation orders from real brides and grooms. Many of them are unconventional but were printed the way our customers preferred. You are the boss when it comes to what your wedding invitation says and when your sense of style or taste does not fit with modern convention there can be pleasant results.
